NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, TIRUCHIRAPPALLI

Applications are invited in the enclosed format giving full details of academic records supported by evidence, for Support Trainees (Network/Hardware/Web/Email/Software) for a period of up to 4 years. Offer will be given for selected candidates initially for 1 year and tenure may be extended each year based on the individual’s performance in the department of Computer Support Group (CSG). No extension will be given beyond 4 years at any cost. This is a purely temporary position and does not entitle any claim for permanent positions in future.

Desirable: 

a. Excellent Academic Records from a reputed institution. 

b. Knowledge in System Administration (Windows / Linux / Mac). 

c. Knowledge in Hardware and Software Installation. 

d. Knowledge in Website design, HTML. 

e. Knowledge in using Email server like Horde client & Linux. 

f. Exposure to Programming Languages C, VB, Java, PHP, ASP. 

g. Exposure to MySQL, MS-SQL, Oracle.

Mode of Selection: 

 On-line Test: in the areas of Computer Hardware, Software, System Administration, OS, Web, Email and Programming Languages for 50 Minutes. 

 Practical Test: Identifying hardware, Basic OS Installation, Webpage design, Email configuring, Programming for 30 Minutes 

 Followed by Personal Interview for shortlisted candidates.

Instructions: 

1. Use the NIT-T Application form below and fill neatly with BLOCK Letters. 

2. Initial Short-listing is based on Academic performance & Age. Only the shortlisted candidates will be informed through Email and through www.nitt.edu website to appear for On-line test.

 3. Only those who pass the On-line test will be allowed for Practical Test & Interview. 

4. No TA/DA will be paid for attending Test/Interview. 

5. The opportunity as ‘Support Trainees’ in NIT-T is purely temporary.

 6. Liable for termination prematurely with 1 month notice. 

7. Age is restricted to 28 years as on October 1, 2015. i.e. those born on or before October 1, 1987 are not eligible. 

8. Send your Application form with necessary support documents on Qualifications, Experience, & Certification by Post/Courier on or before November 13, 2015. 

9. NIT-T will not be responsible for any Delay / Loss of application during transit or due to other reasons

 10. Applications received after the due date, or application not in prescribed NIT-T form or incomplete applications without enclosures etc., will be summarily rejected. No communication is entertained. 

11. If selected, the working hours are 9.00 am to 5.30 pm, 6-days a week.

 12. Hostel Accommodation will be provided for outstation candidates in any one of the hostels subject to availability on monthly payment of Rs.750 per month (the amount may be revised from time to time) 

13. Those who worked in NIT-T earlier as Trainees are not eligible to apply again. Decision of Selection Committee is final and binding. Institute reserves right to cancel the section at any point of time.
