Qualifications and other conditions applicable, are as prescribed in UGC Regulations 2018. The qualifying Degree must have been obtained in the relevant subject/specialization through regular mode only. Degrees obtained through Open/Correspondence/Distance Education/Private Study are not eligible. Candidates must have obtained their Master’s Degree in the relevant subject/specialization with minimum 55% of marks (relaxation of 5% marks will be provided in case of SC/ST/Differently Abled (Physical & Visual Impaired).

The candidate having a valid National level fellowship (JRF/SRF of various funding agencies, e.g. CSIR, UGC, DBT, DST etc.), INSPIRE or other equivalent fellowships will be preferred. But highly motivated final year master students and non-NET qualified students can also apply. The upper age limit for applying for the JRF position shall be 28 years, which is relaxed upto 5 years for candidates belonging to Schedule Castes/Schedule Tribes, Women, Physically Handicapped and 3 years for OBCs.000/- per month (for III & IV years)
