Scientist-B recruitment in Vector Control Research Centre (VCRC) for direct recruitment

Post No. 1 : Scientist-B (Medical)

Essential Qualification: MBBS degree recognized by MCI. Desirable: i. MD in Community Medicine/Social & Preventive Medicine/Microbiology/Pathology. ii. Additional Post doctoral research/teaching experience in subjects in recognized institute(s). iii. Two years R&D/ Teaching experience in relevant subject after obtaining essential qualification

Post No. 2 : Scientist-B (Non-medical)

Essential Qualification : 1 st Class M.Sc degree in Zoology/ Medical Entomology/ Public Health Entomology from a recognized University. Or 2 nd Class M.Sc degree in Zoology/ Medical Entomology/ Public Health Entomology + Ph.D in the relevant subject from a recognized University. Desirable: i. Doctorate in Zoology/Public Health Entomology/Medical Entomology from a recognized university. ii. Additional Post doctoral research/teaching experience in subjects related to vector borne diseases and their control in recognized institute(s) iii. Knowledge of Computer Applications or Biostatistics/Data Management

Post No. 3 : Scientist-B (Non-medical)

Essential Qualification : 1 st Class Master’s degree in Microbiology from a recognized University. Or 2 nd Class Master’s degree in Microbiology + Ph.D in the relevant subject from a recognized University. Desirable: i. Doctorate in Microbiology from a recognized university. ii. Additional Post doctoral research/teaching experience in subjects related to vector borne diseases and their control in recognized institute(s) iii. Knowledge of Computer Applications or Biostatistics/Data Management

Pay Band : Rs.15,600-39,100 + Grade Pay of Rs.5400

Age limit : Not exceeding 35 years.

Selection : Written test & Interview

VECTOR CONTROL RESEARCH CENTRE

Candidates who possess qualifications mentioned below may attend the WALK-IN INTERVIEW which will be held between 10-00 AM AND 12.00 NOON on Tuesday 13th October 2015 to fill up one post of Junior Research Fellow to work under the DST project entitled “Molecular Epidemiological analysis and Vector Surveillance of Japanese Encephalitis in the endemic areas of Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry” initially for a period of ONE YEAR and will be extended till the end of the project based on his/her performance and availability of funds.

Essential qualification : Post Graduate Degree in basic Science with NET qualification or Graduate Degree in Professional Course with NET qualification or Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course (like M.Sc, Public Health Entomology) 

Desirable Qualification : Qualified in the entrance examination conducted by Pondicherry Central University for full-time PhD programme (2015-16) 

Nature of Research : To study molecular epidemiological and vector surveillance of Japanese encephalitis

Fellowship : Rs. 14,000/- (1st & 2nd year) and Rs. 16,000/- (3rd year) + HRA (20%)

Educational Qualification

Qualification must be from recognized Board or University or Institute and the relevant post- qualification experience in the concerned field (if any).

• For post 1: Candidates must possess Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field  with relevant experience
• For Post 2 & 3: Candidates must possess Higher Secondary (12th Standard) Pass.
• For Post 4: Candidates must possess MD/ DNB in the appropriate Specialty or Ph.D. with relevant experience.

Age Limit

Age Limit for the candidate as mentioned below as on last date of receipt of application and Age Relaxation for the category candidate should be as per rules.

• For Post 1 & 2:  Not exceeding 30 years.
• For Post 3:  Not exceeding 28 years.
• For Post 4:  Not exceeding 70 years.

Pay Scale

Candidate will get the Consolidated Salary on Monthly Basis as mentioned below;

• For Post 1:  Rs. 25,650/- Per Month.
• For Post 2:  Rs. 16,000/- Per Month.
• For Post 3:  Rs. 15,200/- Per Month.
• For Post 4:  Rs. 40,000/- Per Month.
